Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
At Diatra, physiotherapy and rehabilitation is the speciality responsible for electromyography testing and dedicated to the diagnosis of diseases and the study of morphology, physiology, pathology, biochemistry, biophysics, biomechanics, functional synergy and kinetic pathology of the organs and systems of the human body.
The physiotherapist is responsible for making the diagnosis, initiating physiotherapy treatment in patients and monitoring the progress of their functional symptoms and conditions for discharge from the service. The physiotherapist is also registered with the Regional Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (Conselho Regional de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional), holds a higher education degree, is trained to develop a functional kinesiology diagnosis and can prescribe physiotherapy activities.
The physiotherapist always advises his or her patients on the prevention and early detection of certain movement-related diseases that, when treated at the right time, will ensure less or no damage in the future.
